In addition to your exceedingly generous tax-deductible support of WPRB as a one-time donor or a recurring member, there are several unsung ways you can contribute to the station that you might not know about, each of which can provide you additional charitable advantages come tax-time.
MATCHING GIFTS:
You may have heard on-air that WPRB partnered with Double The Donation to improve our ability to accept Matching Gifts. Please check the form below to see if your employer will equal your donation as you enter your info in our secure pledge portal at pledge.wprb.com!
PAYROLL DONATIONS:
As of this year WPRB is also able to accept Payroll Donations. These automatic payroll deductions allow employees to contribute to the station right from their paycheck automatically. This is another easy way to give back as you “set it and forget it.”
Note: You may need to search for the organization “PRINCETON BROADCASTING SERVICE, INC” instead of WPRB when requesting either a match or payroll donation with your employer.
DONATE STOCK:
Support WPRB with a tax-advantaged stock gift at DonateStock.com. Contributions like these can help the donor reduce taxes on capital gains while deducting 100% of the fair market value of a gifted stock held more than one year.
IRA DISTRIBUTIONS:
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70.5 years old or above to donate up to $108,000 total directly from their taxable IRA instead of taking a Required Minimum Distribution. Please keep WPRB in mind when making your annual RMD. This must be processed by December 31st to count towards the current financial year. The station’s tax ID number is 22-6073798.
DONATE A VEHICLE:
Donating your car is a tremendous way to support WPRB and roughly 80% of the sale price of your vehicle at auction is donated to the station. But this program is for more than just cars! You can actually donate cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and most other motorized vehicles. Charitable Adult Rides & Services (CARS) arranges pick-up and handles all the paperwork, even if your vehicle doesn’t currently run! Visit WPRB’s donation page here.
DONATE YOUR LPs + CDs:
Got a box of compact discs left over from the 90s or a wall of vinyl you no longer listen to and want put to good use? WPRB accepts certain donations of physical music collections, and can reward you with a receipt for a tax-deductible donation of material goods. If you live locally, we might even be able to come to your house and retrieve the collection in person! Our Music Director can help coordinate this donation if you email them.
