Frankie Beverley & The Butlers Love (Your Pain Goes Deep) The Sound Of Philadelphia Beverly started out singing gospel music in church as a schoolboy in Philadelphia. He has claimed that his first professional concert was a tour with The Silhouettes (famous for their 1958 hit single, "Get a Job") when he was only twelve years old. However, this is disputed by those associated with the group, whose members were never known to mention him while they were alive. As a teenager he formed The Blenders, a short-lived a cappella, doo-wop group that were influenced by The Dells, The Moonglows, and The Del Vikings. After that outfit dissolved, he founded The Butlers (subsequently Frankie Beverly and the Butlers), which would be the first group he recorded with in 1963. In 1967, he cut "If that's what you wanted", which became a northern soul standard. As time passed, they caught the attention of the record producer Kenny Gamble, who eventually released recordings by the group.
Quintron Underwater Dance Club Are You Ready For An Organ Solo? Three One G Records 2003; New Orleans drum-buddy instrument inventor and utilizes a custom-made Hammond organ/Fender Rhodes synthesizer combo which he has had custom outfitted to resemble the body of a car, complete with working headlights and a Louisiana license plate which reads "Quintron". Quintron is often accompanied by The Drum Buddy, a rotating, light-activated analog synthesizer, one of many which he has created and manufactured himself. Quintron frequently plays multiple instruments simultaneously, the Hammond organ acting as his primary instrument, and the Fender Rhodes supplying bass lines. He can often be seen keeping time on a hi-hat with one foot while toggling between a volume and wah-wah pedal with the other. Often accompanied by his wife, Ms. Pussycat, who does vocals on this track with Quintron and often performs puppet shows at his performances.

Molly Drake Breakfast At Bradenham Woods Molly Drake Squirrel Thing Recordings 2013; collection of songs performed by the English poet and musician Molly Drake, mother of Nick Drake, in the 1950s at the family home in Tanworth-in-Arden by her husband, Rodney Drake. Fred Thomas states: "This collection of home-recorded songs by Molly Drake, mother of Nick and writer of her own private, secluded songs, offers another perspective on where Nick might have developed his songwriting voice. Recorded at home to a rudimentary tape setup during the 1950s, the 19 songs here feature solely Molly's soft but strong vocals and spare piano accompaniment. Her poetic lyrics are sometimes storytelling, sometimes nostalgic, and other times more vague, but even at their most lighthearted are touched by a sombre tone of despair."
